Writing at the Center: SSWCA & NVWP 2023
March 17, 2023 to March 18, 2023 EDT
This is the eleventh annual Secondary Schools Writing Centers Association conference for secondary school writing and peer tutoring centers, directors, and administrators, and this year, the Northern Virginia Writing Project is partnering with SSWCA.
This conference is in-person at George Mason University's Arlington Campus. There is also an opportunity for a virtual conference experience for those unable to attend in person. The goal of the conference is to "build scholarship in the field, promote effective practice, and build community among those engaged with writing centers, peer tutoring, and the National Writing Project (NWP)."
We highly recommend attending two sessions from NVWP associates:
Inclusivity & Creativity Across the Curriculum: Fostering Student Agency

Time: March 17th from 12:55 - 1:40 PM
Creatively Centered: How Creative Approaches to Writing Can Improve Student Outcomes
A professional development workshop
