Virtual Event

Join Poetry Daily for a reading and conversation with Ken Bluford, author of Skip Tracing, online on Tuesday March 18, from 7.30-8.30pm.    The book will be featured a day earlier on Poetry Daily, along with a short essay by Bluford.

Skip Tracing by turns beguiles and disturbs us with its “skips,” bringing to mind both John Ashbery and the Black avant-garde, the twelve-bar blues and the shocks and disembodiments of contemporary life.  Ken Bluford was born in Philadelphia in 1949, graduated from New York University and the University of Pennsylvania, and in 1975 became the first Black professor at Kenyon College.  He has been a highly regarded poet in some circles with a long underground career, includihttps://gmu.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_sun_4BLCTz6-fJgMNiuKegng a co-publication with the great Tom Weatherly; this is his first major collection.
